She was initially inspired by shadows cast on grass. After a few weeks she came up with a technique which did not make the subject on canvas as an unflat image. If the object is alive or a thing that can be eaten, like fruit and even people that they transform into a picture of themselves. The style that Alexa paints is ephemeral and only the photos of her work remain. The painting and photography techniques closely synchronized, which results in a flat, two-dimensional space that achieves trompe l'oeil. Only certain elements of the picture such as the hair, or eyes, reveal the third dimension. Meade is also able to integrate her models painted by Meade into the space of 3D that surrounds them. Interaction between them as well as the world they created is conceivable. This is a way of breaking down the barriers between photography, painting installation and performance.
